STOP MOTION

Hamlet

(2024)

This stop motion animation was created for a school English project to demonstrate an understanding of Shakespeare's Hamlet.

The "ease in, ease out" technique was used to give the characters a sense of weight, especially in the fight scenes.

Lighting and shallow depth of field was used to emphasize the characters and avoid the scene looking flat.

Tie Fighter

(2023)

This stop motion animation uses Lego 3D models created with Mecabricks and lit in Blender, combined with real Lego and integrated into the background using a blue screen.

Mandalorian

(2022)

This stop motion uses practical lights to illuminate the Lego door control as well as the lasers.

Order 66

(2022)

This stop motion combines digital and practical effects with the use of real lights to give the illusion of the composited lasers casting light on the real Lego.

Jango Fett's Death

(2022)

This stop motion is a recreation of Jango Fett's death scene from Attack of the Clones.  It uses composited lightsabers and lasers as well as a green screen background and some 2D camera-shake added in post to tie the scene together.

Stop Motion Animation Tutorial

(2022)

This tutorial video is a compilation of tips that would have helped me when I was a complete beginner in stop motion animation.  I created all the animations in Stop Motion Studio Pro and the video was edited in Davinci Resolve.

Clone Trooper Running

(2022)

This animation was created by using a broken articulated desk lamp.  I attached the action figure to the end of the lamp's arm and used it as a rig to hold the action figure while I animated it running.  I then replaced the blue screen background and masked out the lamp arm.
